This copy of Idea is a US stereo LP on ATCO catalogue number SD 33-253, pressed by Monarch Record Mfg. Co. and issued on the yellow ATCO label, not the purple-and-brown label the album first came out on. ATCO used this yellow label, with its 1841 Broadway address, from late 1968 until late 1973, so the pressing dates to somewhere between 1968 and 1973.

Both labels print SD 33-253 at the top, carry the multicolor ATCO fan logo and read "MFG. BY ATLANTIC RECORDING CORP., 1841 BROADWAY, NEW YORK, N.Y." around the rim. The label matrix numbers are ST-C-681333-MO and ST-C-681334-MO, and the MO suffix identifies Monarch as the plant. In the dead wax, side one reads STC-681333-BB-RE LW AT [MR logo] △12189 W and side two reads STC-681334-AA-RE AT LW [MR logo] △12189-X W. It is a single black disc. On the back of the jacket, a group photograph sits beside a numbered line-drawing key naming Maurice, Robin, Barry, Vince and Colin.

The earliest US copies of this 1968 album came on ATCO's purple-and-brown stereo label. This one keeps the original SD 33-253 catalogue number but carries the yellow label that replaced it, which makes it a later ATCO pressing on the original catalogue number.
