This is the standard black-vinyl pressing of Too Close For Running, the debut album from aron!, released on Verve Records. The single LP carries twelve songs, six to a side, and includes the album's two guest features: "Call When You Can" with dodie and "Macramé" with Mei Semones.

Too Close For Running is a coming-of-age record. Its songs follow college, a move to New York City, romance and the complications that come with it, and they are written more directly from his own life than the dreamlike songs that came before. Verve's notes describe cozy pop songs about love, risk and going all in, built on jazz-tinged harmonies, string arrangements and the charm of 1940s pop. Of the title, aron! has said: "That's the idea of the album - that moment where we're too close to start running away now."

Ahead of the album, Verve issued "Macramé" and "Wonderful Thing", then "Shiny Stockings" in June 2026, "Not For A Lack Of Trying" in July and "Call When You Can" in August. John Mayer played "Wonderful Thing" on his SiriusXM channel, Life with John Mayer, saying: "It's nice to hear music performed by a guy who knows a lot of chords but also knows how to use them in a tune."

aron! grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, studied classical composition at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and went on to study jazz voice and film scoring at the University of Miami. He began developing his vintage pop sound in 2023 and signed to Verve in 2025, which released his EP cozy you (and other nice songs). Vevo named him to its DSCVR Artists to Watch class of 2026.
