Anthrax - Cursum Perficio (CD)

Standard CD Edition

This is the general-retail CD of Cursum Perficio from Megaforce Records, the band's label for North America. All eleven songs play on a single disc. The indie-store CD is a separate release under its own barcode, as are the European Nuclear Blast editions.

Cursum Perficio keeps the five-piece lineup that made For All Kings, which makes it the band's first album since The Greater of Two Evils in 2004 without a change of personnel. Joey Belladonna, who first sang with Anthrax from 1984 to 1992, has fronted the band again since 2010. Jonathan Donais, formerly of Shadows Fall, joined as touring lead guitarist and was confirmed as a full member in August 2013.

Scott Ian has said the title track "brought out the beast in me," and Charlie Benante called the song "the dark horse of the record."

Megaforce's history with the band reaches back to Spreading the Disease, released in October 1985. In 1991 Anthrax recorded a version of "Bring the Noise" with Public Enemy. The band was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 33rd and 34th Grammy Awards, and again in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for "I'm Alive," their cover of "T.N.T." and "Neon Knights."
