This is the black vinyl edition of Karaoke Bar: a single LP in a gatefold sleeve, catalog number AJS08LPS, on the Angus & Julia Stone Records label. An independent-retail gold and clear smoky marble LP and a digipak CD make up the rest of the release.

Angus and Julia Stone are a brother and sister from Newport, on Sydney's Northern Beaches, who formed the duo in 2006. Their debut album, A Book Like This, reached No. 6 on the ARIA chart in 2007 and was certified platinum in Australia.

Rick Rubin produced their self-titled third album in 2014, which reached the top 10 in France, Germany, the Netherlands and New Zealand. Snow followed in 2017 and peaked at No. 2 in Australia, and their 2021 soundtrack album Life Is Strange won the ARIA Award for Best Original Soundtrack. Karaoke Bar comes two years after Cape Forestier, which was nominated for Best Adult Contemporary Album at the ARIA Awards.

Both siblings also record on their own. Julia's solo albums include The Memory Machine (2010) and By the Horns (2012); Angus reached No. 2 in Australia with his solo album Broken Brights in 2012 and also records as Dope Lemon. "Celestial Bodies," the third song on side A, was released with an official video on the duo's channel.
