Black 7-inch Single

A limited-production 7-inch single from Universal Music Japan, catalog number TYKT-59001, with "Vivarium" on side A and its instrumental on side B. It is pressed on black vinyl with a small center hole and was issued in Japan on September 2, 2026; the label's store says sales end once the production run is used up.

Ado wrote both the words and the music, and the song adapts her autobiographical novel Vivarium: Ado and Me, published on February 26, 2026. Takafumi "CO-K" Kokei, the bandmaster of her live band, arranged it. Universal Music Japan describes it as "voca-rock" that carries her struggle with self-denial toward a search for light. Released digitally on February 18, 2026, it reached No. 26 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and No. 10 on Oricon's digital singles chart.

Its video, directed by Kyotaro Hayashi and built from about 300 shots, was Ado's first live-action music video, with Ado on camera in an underwater scene and running in heels. She has said the jacket is also her first live-action cover and that the figure in it is her; she otherwise performs as a silhouette.

Ado debuted in October 2020 with "Usseewa," which topped the Billboard Japan Hot 100. "New Genesis," from One Piece Film: Red, reached No. 1 in Japan and No. 20 on the Billboard Global 200 in 2022, and her albums Kyogen (2022) and Zanmu (2024) both reached No. 1 on the Oricon and Billboard Japan album charts.
