A home for people who actually listen.
Evergreen Vinyl opened its doors in downtown Camas, Washington, with one thing in mind: create a record store that treats music with the respect it deserves. A place rooted in history, craftsmanship, and the kind of quiet joy you only get when a needle meets a groove.
Camas hadn’t had a record store since Al’s Record Hut closed in the ’90s. That felt like unfinished business. So we finished it. When members of Al’s family walked in during opening week and gave us their blessing, we took it as a sign we were on the right path. (Record store legitimacy is not legally conferred this way, but it should be.)
A Store Built on Care, Curiosity, and Craft
Evergreen Vinyl is for listeners—lifelong collectors, first-timers, musicians, the deeply curious, and anyone who knows the difference between “background music” and listening.
We curate with intention, choosing albums for their musical importance, their story, their pressing quality, or simply because the record deserves to be held in someone’s hands.
Our focus includes:
-
Essential titles and carefully chosen new releases
-
High-quality pressings and variants with real provenance
-
Honest, transparent used grading (no surprises, no “Good+” that should’ve been “you deserve better”)
-
A growing knowledge base that brings clarity to the vast landscape of recorded music
Every record in the shop has a reason to be here. If we can’t explain the reason, it doesn’t make it to the shelf.
Pacific Northwest Roots
Camas shapes us: the trees, the rain, the craft culture, the sense that things should be made well and last a long time. Evergreen Vinyl reflects that spirit through thoughtful curation, a slower pace, and an appreciation for the details.
We’re the first record store in town in nearly 30 years—something the community has embraced immediately. Camas doesn’t take to gimmicks, but it responds wholeheartedly to things done with authenticity, intention, and a little humility. (The region also responds strongly to good coffee. We respect that too.)
Why Evergreen?
Because records are evergreen.
Because music that matters stays.
Because the Pacific Northwest literally surrounds us in green for 12 months at a time.
And because this store is built to endure, not trend-chase.
Where Music History Meets Modern Clarity
Evergreen Vinyl is equal parts:
record shop, research library, archival project, and digital catalog built for the long game.
We’re building an online store and knowledge base designed to become one of the most trusted discographic resources anywhere—covering:
-
albums
-
artists
-
producers
-
engineers
-
session musicians
-
studios
-
labels
-
and the stories that shaped the music you love
Think of it as Discogs, if Discogs had more structure, fewer missing fields, and a strong coffee before sitting down to organize itself.
We use real data, real sources, and a real respect for the craft. No filler, no mythmaking.
Stewards of the Craft
Vinyl isn’t just a format—it’s an ecosystem of people, ideas, and techniques. We celebrate:
-
mastering engineers and lacquer cutters
-
independent labels and legacy catalog owners
-
pressing plants and jacket printers
-
archivists, historians, and collectors
-
the hands behind the music
To us, the people who make the record matter just as much as the record itself. This isn’t nostalgia. This is cultural stewardship—one release at a time.
Flip Through the Bins
