Cassette tapes are still popular and worth space on your shelf. They’re portable and a little more personal than streaming. At Evergreen Vinyl, we treat them with care, like any other physical format in our store.

Music Cassettes With Context

The EVDB will connect artists, releases, credits, and the people behind the recording. It will help you make choices that actually reflect what you care about in music tapes.

This information will also make browsing cassette tapes for sale easier by providing related formats and adjacent records.

Cassette Tape Music: The Joy of Pressing Play

Choosing cassettes from our catalogue is a great way to build your collection. It’s the kind of format that your tape deck will appreciate, even if your digital-only friends don't really understand the appeal of the rewind button.

New Cassette Tapes, and Recent Reissues

New cassettes often come in clean condition and just sound right in a physical format. They’re the best choice if you’d rather spend time listening than decoding a listing.

A title like Billie Eilish's Happier Than Ever shows why newer music still needs a sleeve and a spine. Shop this cassette today.

Foundational Albums on Tape

Some titles feel right on tape because the format matches the relationship people have with them: repeated listening and the pleasure of owning a copy.

Pearl Jam Ten is an example in this group, available in our store. Audio cassettes like this are a part of your identity as a collector and listener.

A well-known song on a cassette tape is easier to place in a collection that may already include vinyl records.

Curious Picks and Collector Titles

A good collection also has space for releases that feel a little left of center, and titles people did not expect to want until they saw them. That’s part of the experience when buying from Evergreen Vinyl.

Charli XCX Wuthering Heights fits this kind of description. It’s the kind of title that warrants a second look, and you can find it here at Evergreen.

Shipping And Mailing List

You love your cassettes, and so do we. That’s why we process and ship your orders with care.

Our delivery is to the United States and Canada, with processing taking between one and three business days. However, any orders you place on weekends or holidays will move on the next business day.

As for pre-orders, they usually ship on or around the stated release date shown on the product page. Delivery estimates appear at checkout and begin after order processing. Also, you’ll receive tracking information in your email after your package ships.

We only work with USPS, UPS, and FedEx for deliveries, depending on the destination. Most U.S. shipments arrive in three to seven business days. Canadian delivery windows can be about the same or longer, but note that customs processing may cause delays.

If your order is over $250, you may need to sign for it on delivery. As for the condition, if your package arrives with visible damage, don’t panic. Take a picture of the package and send it to us immediately so we can help you with a carrier claim.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Does Gen Z Like Cassettes?

Gen Zers like cassette tapes because they offer artwork and a sense of ownership. They’re also trendy. We have many cassettes for sale, catering to the varied music tastes of Gen Z and older listeners, too.

Why Are Cassette Tapes No Longer Used?

Cassette tapes became less popular in the early 2000s as CDs and digital files became easier to distribute and store. Today, however, tapes are trendy as a niche format for collectors and fans who value physical copies. Evergreen Vinyl supports this interest by stocking cassettes.

What Is a Cassette Tape Used For?

A cassette tape stores and plays recorded audio, normally music. Listeners play them on cassette decks and portable players. You can also play tapes on hi-fi systems designed for cassettes.

Are Cassette Tapes Worth Money Now?

Yes, some cassette tapes are worth money. Limited releases and artist exclusives can be valuable. However, it can also depend on factors such as its condition and how rare it is. Our cassette tapes are a mix of valuable titles and music that people like to listen to.
