20th Anniversary Edition Limited Opaque Yellow Vinyl LP

Temporary Residence marks twenty years of Settle Down City with this anniversary edition, pressed as a single LP on limited-edition opaque yellow vinyl under catalog number TRR445. James Plotkin, known for his work with Khanate and Sunn O))), remastered the album, and the label rebuilt the packaging from the original artwork after restoring it. The edition adds a previously unreleased twelfth track, "White Water," recorded during the original Settle Down City sessions. The label's mock-ups show a printed insert alongside the jacket.

Settle Down City was Young Widows' debut album, first released by Jade Tree on September 12, 2006. Evan Patterson, Nick Thieneman and Geoff Paton had been the instrumental core of the Louisville band Breather Resist. After vocalist Steve Sindoni left in December 2005, the three went into the studio as a trio, decided their sound had changed too much, and put the record out under a new name. The credits note that friend Kelley Cox came up with it.

C. Owens recorded and mixed the album at Head Bangin Kill Your Momma Music in Louisville over April 1 to 16, 2006, and Alan Douches mastered the original at West West Side. Sindoni still sings on "Glad He Ate Her," for which he also wrote a line, and a group of eight friends shouts the title of "We Don't Know." The skull drawing on the cover is by D. Snodgrass, with titles hand-painted by Patterson and layout by Ryan Patterson of Auxiliary.

Reviewing it for Exclaim! in August 2006, Jasamine White-Gluz described the band as "a dirtier, sludgier, slower version of their previous incarnation" and called the album "an adventure into noisy indie rock worth taking." Young Widows moved to Temporary Residence for their second album, Old Wounds, in 2008, and the label has released their records since.
