Vinyl LP

This is the vinyl edition of Highways & Heart Attacks, a single LP issued by Tompkins Square under catalog number TSQ 5593, with ten songs split five to a side.

Will Beeley came up in the Austin songwriting scene of the 1970s alongside Townes Van Zandt and Steve Earle, and released two albums in that decade, Gallivantin' in 1971 and Passing Dream in 1979. He then spent years as a long-haul truck driver. Tompkins Square reissued both of those records in 2017.

Released on June 14, 2019, this is Beeley's third album and his first new music in 40 years. Joe Trevino, a five-time Grammy winner known for his work with Los Lobos, recorded it, and Stuart Sikes, whose credits include Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose and Cat Power, mixed it. Rolling Stone described "U.S. 85," Beeley's song about the highway that runs from New Mexico to North Dakota, as "spacious, spare and simmering."
