25th Anniversary Edition 2LP on 140g Opaque Electric Blue Vinyl

Rhino issued this double-LP edition of Summerteeth on October 4, 2024, for the album's 25th anniversary, as part of Rocktober, the label's yearly run of limited-edition vinyl reissues. The two 140-gram discs are pressed in opaque electric blue and come in a single-pocket jacket rather than a gatefold. They were cut from the same lacquers as the album's 2020 vinyl reissue and pressed in the US. The sixteen tracks run four to a side. Side D ends with "Candyfloss" and a remix of "A Shot in the Arm," the album's second single.

Summerteeth was Wilco's third studio album, first released by Reprise in March 1999. Sessions began in November 1997 at Willie Nelson's studio in Spicewood, Texas. They were finished at Kingsize Soundlabs in Chicago after the band completed Mermaid Avenue with Billy Bragg. Jeff Tweedy and Jay Bennett wrote much of the material in the studio and built it up with Pro Tools overdubs, unlike the live-band takes on earlier Wilco records. Bennett's own parts range from Mellotron and Farfisa to banjo and lap steel. While touring, Tweedy was reading Henry Miller, William H. Gass and John Fante, and he has tied that reading to his start at writing lyrics down on paper.

The album reached No. 78 on the Billboard 200 and was Wilco's first to make the UK top 40. It placed eighth in the Village Voice's 1999 Pazz & Jop critics' poll, and Chicago Tribune critic Greg Kot named it the year's best album. "How to Fight Loneliness" was later used in the film Girl, Interrupted, and "Via Chicago" in the series The Bear.
