Standard Black Vinyl LP

The standard black-vinyl pressing of OK Human, Weezer's fourteenth studio album, issued by Crush Music and Atlantic Records. All twelve songs sit on a single 12-inch disc, six to a side, opening with "All My Favorite Songs" and closing with "La Brea Tar Pits." The LP was released on February 12, 2021, two weeks after the album's January 29 release.

Work on the record began as early as 2017, when the band set out to pair rock instrumentation with an orchestra. Producer Jake Sinclair, who had made the White Album with Weezer in 2016, proposed a 38-piece orchestra and gave Rivers Cuomo Harry Nilsson's Nilsson Sings Newman as a reference point, and the label's notes name the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds as another. The album was recorded entirely on analog equipment. Sinclair and arranger Rob Mathes wrote the string and horn parts, Suzy Shinn added vocal production, and Cuomo told the Los Angeles Times in 2019 that the strings had been recorded at Abbey Road Studios.

The lineup is Rivers Cuomo on lead vocals and piano, Brian Bell on acoustic guitar and organ, Patrick Wilson on drums and Scott Shriner on bass, with Bell, Wilson and Shriner also singing backing vocals. OK Human was originally meant to follow Van Weezer. When the pandemic postponed the Hella Mega Tour with Green Day and Fall Out Boy, the band swapped the release order, and Van Weezer came out four months later.

The title is a play on Radiohead's OK Computer, and the cover is an illustration by Mattias Adolfsson. The album reached number 41 on the Billboard 200 and number 91 on the UK Albums Chart, and Metacritic gives it a weighted score of 75 from 21 reviews.
