180g 2LP in a Gatefold Sleeve

Decca pressed Re:works to two 180g LPs in a gatefold sleeve under catalog number 4799204, with thirteen tracks laid out across four sides. The record is shorter than the digital edition, which runs to seventeen: Wolfgang Voigt's two reworks of Bach's "Air On A G String," Sebastien Tellier's Moonlight Sonata and Brigante's Hungarian Sketches are on the download and not on the vinyl.

Re:works came out of Decca opening its own classical recordings to producers working in electronic music. Each piece is built from a Decca master rather than from a score, and the thirteen on this record draw on Grieg, Bach, Faure, Satie, Debussy, Steve Reich, Schubert, Holst, Rachmaninov and Ryuichi Sakamoto.

The producers are Solomon Grey, Ulrich Schnauss, Faultline, Starkey, Henrik Schwarz, Mr Scruff, Kate Simko, Fort Romeau, Thomas Gandey, Martin Buttrich, Francesco Tristano, Patrice Baumel and Alberto Bof. Satie is the composer most often returned to: Gnossienne No. 1 goes to Starkey, Gnossienne No. 4 to Martin Buttrich and the 4 Preludes Flasques to Fort Romeau. Steve Reich appears twice, with Mr Scruff on Six Pianos and Patrice Baumel on Drumming, the second of those credited on the sleeve as a rework edit.

Kate Simko's rework of Schubert's Schwanengesang dates from the same year as her debut album with the London Electronic Orchestra. Francesco Tristano works from Ryuichi Sakamoto's theme for Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, and Alberto Bof closes the record with Rachmaninov's All-Night Vigil. Decca issued Re:works in the United Kingdom on July 15, 2016.
