Premium Black Vinyl LP, Cut From The Original Analog Master Tapes

Jackpot Records issued this premium black vinyl edition of the Meters' self-titled debut in September 2025, under catalog number JPR 086. Kevin Gray mastered it and cut the lacquers from the original analog master tapes at Cohearent Audio, and the record is manufactured by Rhino.

The Meters was first released by Josie in May 1969, produced by Allen Toussaint and Marshall Sehorn. The band was Art Neville on organ, Leo Nocentelli on guitar, George Porter Jr. on bass and Ziggy Modeliste on drums, and the four share the writing credits. Before the album, they had worked as the backing band on records Toussaint produced for Lee Dorsey and others.

"Cissy Strut" reached No. 4 on Billboard's R&B singles chart and No. 23 on the Hot 100. "Sophisticated Cissy" and "Ease Back" charted on both lists as well, and the album reached No. 23 on the R&B albums chart. "6V6 LA" takes its name from the 6V6 vacuum tube found in many guitar amplifiers.

Comparing this reissue with an original pressing for Stereophile, Ken Micallef described "a more 'hi-fi,' better-resolved sound," with the bass on "Cissy Strut" and "Cardova" more prominent but "not overdone." The video above is "Cissy Strut."

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking information via email. We recommend monitoring tracking updates and ensuring delivery to a secure location.

Evergreen Vinyl is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after being marked as delivered by the carrier. Customers are responsible for selecting a shipping address where deliveries can be received safely.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.

Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the order ships.

Once a preorder has shipped, it is treated as a completed order and is subject to the return, refund, and exchange policies outlined above.
