Premium Black Vinyl LP, All-Analog Cut By Kevin Gray

This premium black vinyl edition of Look-Ka Py Py comes from Jackpot Records, the Portland, Oregon record store and label, under catalog number JPR 087. It was issued in September 2025 alongside the black vinyl edition of the band's debut. Kevin Gray cut it from the original analog master tapes at Cohearent Audio, and the matrix numbers are etched in the runout.

The Meters' second album was recorded at LeFevre Sound Studios in Atlanta with Rodney Mills engineering, and Allen Toussaint and Marshall Sehorn produced it. It is an instrumental record, and every track except "Oh, Calcutta!" is credited to Art Neville, Leo Nocentelli, George Porter Jr. and Ziggy Modeliste.

The title track reached No. 11 on Billboard's R&B singles chart, and the album reached No. 23 on the R&B albums chart. Rolling Stone placed it at No. 218 on its 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and Pitchfork gave it a 10. Jackpot's notes quote Rolling Stone calling it "the gold standard for funk."

In his Stereophile review of the Jackpot series, Ken Micallef found this reissue "more faithful to the original recording," with a subtle lift in the treble and bass.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.

Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the order ships.

Once a preorder has shipped, it is treated as a completed order and is subject to the return, refund, and exchange policies outlined above.
