Red & White Splatter Vinyl, National Album Day 2025, Half-Speed Mastered

This single LP of The Jesus and Mary Chain's debut was issued for National Album Day 2025, a 40th anniversary edition pressed on white vinyl with red splatter. Retailers carrying this barcode list it as a limited UK/EU edition. Discogs records the lacquers as half-speed mastered, and Vibes Records also describes this anniversary edition as cut at half speed. The runout inscriptions are laser etched.

The picture sleeve reproduces the original 1985 cover art, and the shrinkwrap carries a hype sticker. The Side One label has the Blanco y Negro logo and that side's running order with timings, credits production to the band, and carries a 1985 Warner Music UK copyright line.

Psychocandy first appeared in November 1985 on Blanco y Negro, the WEA-backed imprint run by Geoff Travis, and reached No. 31 on the UK Albums Chart. The band produced it, working with engineer John Loder at Southern Studios in Wood Green, London. Jim Reid sings lead on every track except "It's So Hard," which William Reid sings. NME placed it second among its albums of 1985.

Three singles came from the album that year: "Never Understand" in February, "You Trip Me Up" in May and "Just Like Honey" in September. "Just Like Honey" opens Side One here, and "Never Understand" opens Side Two.
