Red Vinyl 2LP in a Gatefold Sleeve

This pressing is [PIAS]'s 2024 reissue of the Dandy Warhols' debut, cut across two red LPs under catalog number PIASC1039LP and housed in a gatefold jacket. [PIAS] issued it alongside a yellow vinyl 2LP of ...The Dandy Warhols Come Down. The sixteen tracks run five to side A, four each to sides B and C, and three to side D.

The band formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1994, and recorded Dandys Rule OK between 1994 and 1995. Tim/Kerr Records released it in 1995. The plain white cover, carrying little more than the band's name in grey, earned it the nickname The White Album after the Beatles record. The band's actual Black Album came a year later in the studio and stayed on the shelf until 2004.

Three singles came from the album: "Ride," "The Dandy Warhols' T.V. Theme Song" and "Nothin' To Do." "T.V. Theme Song" got radio play and appeared on MTV. The press of the day was less kind, and NME dismissed the record as an "unfocused, sprawling debut album." Side D holds the three-part "It's A Fast-Driving Rave-Up With The Dandy Warhols Sixteen Minutes," and on the original release a short reprise of "Dick" is hidden 3:11 into its Finale.
