Rhino High Fidelity 180g Vinyl LP, Elektra 75

This is the Rhino High Fidelity edition of Adventure: lacquers cut all-analog by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the original stereo master tapes, and 180-gram vinyl pressed at Optimal Media. Rhino first offered the pressing through Rhino.com in January 2025. This barcode, carried on a sticker, is the brick-and-mortar release that reached record stores on July 4, 2025 as part of Elektra 75.

The jacket is a heavyweight, glossy tip-on gatefold with an obi strip, which states a limited, numbered edition of 5,000. Inside are new liner notes by John Jansen, who co-produced the album with Tom Verlaine, printed on a full-size four-page insert, along with a reproduction of the original red insert carrying the lyrics on one side and the credits on the other. The red sheet lists "Carried Away" as the first song on side two; on the record it closes side one.

Adventure was Television's second album, issued by Elektra in April 1978, fourteen months after Marquee Moon. In his notes Jansen recalls the 1977 sessions at the Record Plant and writes that the band "were more adventurous this time around." The lineup is Tom Verlaine on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards, Richard Lloyd on guitar and vocals, Fred Smith on bass and vocals, and Billy Ficca on drums. Lloyd plays the guitar solos on "Days" and "Ain't That Nothin'," Verlaine takes the rest, and the credits list his "switchblade guitars" on "The Fire." It was the band's last album until their self-titled reunion record in 1992.
