Black Vinyl

Columbia's standard pressing of Deadbeat: two black records in a gatefold jacket, with printed inner sleeves and a twelve-page lyrics and artwork booklet. Matt Colton cut the lacquers at Metropolis Mastering, and the runouts carry the catalog number 19802956001 across all four sides. Three tracks to a side.

Deadbeat is Kevin Parker's fifth Tame Impala album and his first for Columbia. He wrote and produced it alone between 2023 and 2025, working at his home studio in Fremantle and at Wave House in Injidup, both in Western Australia; Sarah Aarons co-wrote "Dracula," "Oblivion" and "Afterthought." The album is presented as drawing on bush doof culture and the Western Australian rave scene, and its two longest tracks, "Ethereal Connection" and "End of Summer," close sides C and D at over seven minutes each.

It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4 with 70,000 album-equivalent units, 38,000 of them pure album sales and 28,000 of those on vinyl, Parker's highest first-week vinyl figure. It reached No. 2 in Australia and No. 5 in New Zealand. "End of Summer" won Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 68th Grammy Awards, and the album was nominated for Australian Album of the Year at the 2025 J Awards and for five 2026 ARIA Awards, including Album of the Year. Metacritic aggregates a score of 64 out of 100 across published reviews.

Four singles mark the campaign. "End of Summer" arrived on July 25, 2025, pressed as a 12-inch backed with "Ethereal Connection"; "Loser" followed on September 3 and "Dracula" on September 26, with a video directed by Julian Klincewicz. "My Old Ways," the video above, was released on October 17, 2025, the same day as the album.
