Numbered Blue Vinyl LP

This Music On Vinyl reissue, catalog number MOVLP4095, is limited to 1,000 individually numbered copies on blue vinyl and comes with an insert. The label used the cover of the original Scandinavian release, and the distributor lists the pressing at 180 grams. It was pressed by Record Industry in the Netherlands for the European market; Music On Vinyl notes that rights restrictions limit its own store to European customers. Twelve songs run six to a side.

Sophie Zelmani is the Swedish singer-songwriter's debut album, released in 1995 on Columbia through Sony Music Sweden. Born Sophie Edkvist in 1972 outside Stockholm, she began writing songs after her father bought her a guitar at 14, recorded demos at a local studio and mailed them to three record companies; Sony Music Sweden offered her a deal. Lars Halapi produced and arranged the album, with Patrik Sventelius co-producing. It was recorded at Atlantis Studio and Sony Studios in Stockholm, mixed by Pontus Olsson at EMI Studios and mastered by Peter Dahl at Cutting Room.

Zelmani wrote every song. "Always You" was her first single in 1995, and "So Good" followed in 1996, reaching No. 53 in Sweden. The album reached No. 4 on the Swedish chart and No. 27 in both regions of Belgium, and had sold about 200,000 copies across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region by 1997 before Columbia issued it in the US. "Stand By" was used in Independence Day (1996) and "Always You" in My Best Friend's Wedding (1997).
