Mustard Yellow Loser Edition Vinyl 2LP

This is the North American Loser Edition of Fantasia, Sub Pop catalog number SP1725, pressed as a limited double LP on mustard yellow vinyl. The music runs across sides A through C, and side D carries an etching. The lacquers were cut by JJ Golden at Golden Mastering and plated at Record Technology Incorporated. The UK and European Loser Edition was pressed separately on Sparkle Starlight vinyl.

Fantasia is the French trio's fourth album, released on June 5, 2026, two years after Ilion. The band produced it at Daft Studios in Brussels, Belgium, and the label's notes say most of the songs were cut in a single take. Kurt Ballou mixed it at GodCity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts, and Magnus Lindberg mastered it at Vrtkl Audio in Stockholm.

Brothers Jean Fossat (guitar, vocals, Mellotron, synth) and Rémi Fossat (bass, synth) play with drummer Canek Flores, a friend since high school; 2026 marks ten years of the trio. Sub Pop's notes say Jean wrote much of the album with Jorge Luis Borges in mind, and that "Orbis Tertius" takes its title from a 1940 Borges short story. The eight songs come in under 50 minutes, with the nine-minute title track the longest.

"A Storm of Wings" was released alongside the album's announcement on March 31, 2026, and the band issued lyric videos for "Fantasia" and "The Day of Execution." The cover art is by Susumu Nishinaga.
