5LP Box Set With 32-Page Booklet

Downside Up collects 49 studio B-sides and extra tracks that Siouxsie and the Banshees issued between 1978 and 1995, and this five-LP box is the collection's first appearance on vinyl. The recordings were remastered from the original tapes, and the lacquers were cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. Geffen issues the box in the US with a 32-page booklet carrying an introduction by Siouxsie, the lyrics, commentary from Siouxsie and Steven Severin, and imagery taken from the band's original single sleeves.

The set first appeared on Polydor on November 29, 2004, as four CDs, the fourth holding The Thorn EP. The 2026 edition is studio-only: The Thorn is held back for a separate reissue, and the two 1991 KROQ Acoustic Christmas recordings that appeared on the "O Baby" CD single, "Swimming Horses" and "All Tomorrow's Parties," are not included. The sequence runs in chronological order, from "Voices (On The Air)," the B-side of "Hong Kong Garden," to "Black Sun," the extra track on "Stargazer."

Covers sit among the originals: T. Rex's "20th Century Boy," Ben E. King's "Supernatural Thing," the Modern Lovers' "She Cracked" and the 18th-century French carol "Il est né, le divin Enfant." Of the 1983 and 1984 B-sides, Robert Smith co-wrote and played on only one, "(There's A) Planet In My Kitchen," from the "Dear Prudence" single. Bassist Steven Severin wrote the lyrics for several, among them "Voices (On The Air)," "Pulled To Bits" and "Throw Them To The Lions." Tricky later covered "Tattoo" as the opening track of Nearly God, and Massive Attack sampled "Mittageisen" for "Superpredators."

Siouxsie has described the B-sides as "very spontaneous," and on the 2026 reissue she has said, "Long live the B sides." Record Collector's review of the original set praised its "remarkable diversity, spontaneity and playfulness."

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
