Black 180g Vinyl LP In Gatefold Jacket With Printed Inner Sleeve

This is the black vinyl edition of Direction of the Heart, issued by BMG under catalog number 538821831 on 180-gram vinyl in a gatefold jacket. A printed inner sleeve carries the credits and a photograph of the band. The nine songs are split four and five across the two sides, the record was manufactured in Poland, and the runouts are etched. Colored vinyl editions were released alongside it under their own barcodes.

Direction of the Heart is Simple Minds' nineteenth studio album, released on October 21, 2022. Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill wrote and demoed most of the songs in Sicily, where both live. Pandemic travel rules kept them from the UK, so the band recorded at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, with drums and backing vocals done in London; the sessions finished on October 24, 2020. The band produced it with Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg, Alan Moulder mixed it at Battery Studios in London, and the cover illustration is by Anthony Lamb.

BMG's announcement described the lead single, "Vision Thing," as a tribute to Kerr's father, who died in 2019. "Act of Love" reworks a song Kerr and Burchill wrote in 1978, around the band's first show at Glasgow's Satellite City, and "The Walls Came Down" is a cover of the Call's 1983 single. "First You Jump" and "Solstice Kiss" were also released as singles. The album reached No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 3 in Scotland and Belgium, and holds a Metacritic score of 75; Mojo wrote that "Simple Minds' energy remains undiminished."

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.
