White Vinyl LP With Printed Lyric Inner Sleeve

This is Real Gone Music's 2021 pressing of Saigon Kick's 1991 debut, catalog number RGM-1213, on white vinyl limited to 900 copies. It was the album's first vinyl release in the United States: the original arrived during the early-1990s lull in vinyl production and came out on LP only in Europe. The record comes in a printed inner sleeve carrying the lyrics and credits, and was manufactured for Rhino Entertainment, with the recording copyrighted to Atlantic Recording Corporation.

The Miami band's debut was released on February 12, 1991, as the first album on Third Stone/Atlantic, a joint venture that Third Stone Records and Atlantic Records set up that year. It was recorded at Scream in Studio City, California. Michael Wagener produced and mixed it, Craig Doubet engineered and George Marino mastered it. Guitarist Jason Bieler wrote the music and most of the lyrics, with singer Matt Kramer contributing lyrics to several songs.

The lineup was Matt Kramer on vocals, Jason Bieler on guitar, Tom Defile on bass and Phil Varone on drums, with Jeff Scott Soto adding backing vocals to "My Life" and "Come Take Me Now." Cash Box described the record as an "aggressive yet melodic debut album" that fused hard rock, heavy metal, psychedelia and punk, and AllMusic's Eduardo Rivadavia credited it with "very inspired songwriting and some amazing chops from guitarist Jason Bieler." The band followed it with The Lizard in 1992.
