Indie Exclusive Clear Vinyl LP

This edition presses Lovers Rock on clear vinyl as a single LP, in the original cover art. In the US it is an indie-retail and direct-to-consumer exclusive.

Lovers Rock is Sade's fifth studio album, released by Epic on November 13, 2000, eight years after Love Deluxe. During the break, Stuart Matthewman, Paul S. Denman and Andrew Hale worked on side projects, among them the band Sweetback. The album was recorded between September 1999 and August 2000 at Sarm Hook End in Oxfordshire, Deliverance in London and El Cortijo in San Pedro de Alcantara, Spain. The band produced and arranged it with Mike Pela, and Tom Coyne mastered it. Its title comes from the romantic reggae style Sade Adu listened to growing up.

The arrangements set aside the saxophone of the earlier records for acoustic guitar, light beats and dub-style echo, with Nick Ingman's strings on "King Of Sorrow" and Andy Nice's cello on "Every Word." Slant Magazine's Sal Cinquemani described it as a concept album and pointed to "Slave Song" and "Immigrant" as social statements. "The Sweetest Gift" is dedicated to the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.

"By Your Side," the lead single, came out in the US on October 3, 2000, with a video directed by Sophie Muller, shown above; "King Of Sorrow" followed on March 12, 2001. The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 18 in the UK, won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2002, and is certified triple platinum by the RIAA and platinum by the BPI.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
