This Warner Classics LP pairs two Mozart wind concertos recorded with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Claudio Abbado, released together on vinyl for the first time. Side A holds the Concerto for Flute and Harp in C major, K. 299, with Emmanuel Pahud on flute and Marie-Pierre Langlamet on harp. Side B holds the Clarinet Concerto in A major, K. 622, with Sabine Meyer. The record is pressed on 140-gram vinyl and runs about 54 minutes.
Both performances were recorded at the Philharmonie in Berlin, the flute and harp concerto in September 1996 and the clarinet concerto in December 1998. Meyer plays the basset clarinet, the instrument with an extended low range for which Mozart originally wrote the concerto. Julian Haylock wrote the liner notes.
