Island's 2016 double-LP reissue of This Is Hardcore, catalog number 4786651, in a gatefold sleeve with each LP in its own custom inner sleeve. The twelve album tracks fill sides A to C, and side D adds four more: "Tomorrow Never Lies," "Laughing Boy," "The Professional" and the "End Of The Line" remix of "This Is Hardcore." The Discogs entry for this barcode notes that the recording behind the "Tomorrow Never Lies" credit is the rough mix of "Tomorrow Never Dies."
Pulp's sixth album followed Different Class amid friction within the band and the departure of guitarist and violinist Russell Senior. Jarvis Cocker wrote much of it alone in New York, and the songs took a more art rock and glam rock direction. Work on the album ran from November 1996 to January 1998, and "Help The Aged" was released as the lead single on 10 November 1997.
This Is Hardcore was released on 30 March 1998 and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. It earned Pulp a third consecutive Mercury Prize nomination.
