This limited edition of the Prince Of Failure debut is pressed on cream white vinyl and carries Kscope catalog number KSCOPE1256. Alliance lists it as a 140-gram import, and its runouts are inscribed BP52/163-0/1 A/1 and B/1. Kscope also released the album on classic black vinyl and as a digipak CD with an eight-page lyric booklet.
The record is the first from Daniel Tompkins of TesseracT and Paul Ortiz of Chimp Spanner under a shared name, which Kscope says separates the project from Tompkins' earlier roles. The label describes the music as carrying the atmosphere of Tompkins' solo work into darker territory, with Ortiz's arrangements, electronic textures and guitar set against close-mic vocals, and with interludes and recurring motifs tying the songs together.
Of "Phantom," Tompkins said, "The idea behind Phantom was to capture that feeling of being at war with yourself - when your own thoughts and desires become the enemy." Michael Levine directed the video for "Jaded Mantra" for Levine Pictures, with Richard Oakes as director of photography. Metal Hammer Germany rated the album 6 out of 7, and Rock Hard recommended it to TesseracT fans.
Evergreen Vinyl ships records with care and attention to detail, using established carriers and packaging practices designed to protect physical media in transit.
