Mutually Assured Distraction is the fourth album from Younger Brother - the electronica project of Simon Posford (Shpongle, Hallucinogen) and Benji Vaughan - and their first full-length in a decade. The title reframes the Cold War doctrine for an age of Digital Summer overstimulation, and the nine tracks move from the haunting opener "I Belong to Nowhere" through "At Home in This World" to the closing "Endless Drift", fusing electronic soundscapes with distinctly human playing: vocals from MiraBelle Rose and Jay Marsh and the rich cello of Rena Jones.
