Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are a San Francisco punk-rock cover band drawn from across the scene, with members of NOFX, Lagwagon, Foo Fighters and the Ramones passing through the lineup. Each of their records takes a theme, and Are a Drag, their second album, is built entirely from show tunes and screen songs. The 1999 set runs through "Over the Rainbow," "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Summertime," "My Favorite Things" and "Tomorrow," with vocalist Spike Slawson singing parts written for female leads; the cover finds the band in drag as characters from the musicals.
