Released in 1957, Little Richard's debut was Specialty Records' first 12-inch LP, pairing six of his hit singles with six previously unreleased songs. Produced by Robert "Bumps" Blackwell and cut in New Orleans and Los Angeles across 1955 and 1956, it collects "Tutti Frutti," "Long Tall Sally," "Rip It Up," "Ready Teddy" and "Jenny, Jenny" — sides that helped set the template for rock and roll. It reached number 13 on the Billboard pop chart, the highest placing of his career and his only album to make the top twenty. Rolling Stone has long included it among its 500 Greatest Albums, and in 2025 Uncut named it the greatest album of the 1950s. This reissue of the 1957 debut is a limited peach-colored pressing on Specialty / Craft Recordings.
