Materia is a companion LP to Julia Holter's 2024 album Something in the Room She Moves, built around the song "Materia" from that record. Across seven tracks Holter realizes two new versions of the title song: "Materia 2," a setting of drum machine, fretless bass, and clarinet with vocals from Jessika Kenney, and "Materia 3," a slowed-down take from Something framed as a CD-era bonus track. The set also gathers two improvisations and "My Twin," the piece from which Holter lifted the riff that became "Fantasy." This pressing is a single LP on black vinyl with a lyric insert and a download card.
