Jon Batiste won an Academy Award for co-composing the score to Pixar's Soul, shared with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and has taken home eight Grammys, among them Album of the Year for We Are. He led the Stay Human band on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert from 2015 to 2022. Black Mozart is the second volume of his Batiste Piano Series, which began in 2024 with Beethoven Blues. Here he reworks Mozart's melodies through jazz, ragtime, stride, blues and stomp, recasting them as Black American classical music. A Decca Records release.
