Indie Exclusive Black Vinyl 2LP

This is the Indie Exclusive pressing of 1999, the debut mixtape from Joey Bada$$, on two black LPs with its fifteen tracks spread across four sides. EMPIRE's own store presents the 2026 run as a 14-year anniversary reissue and lists it in a gatefold jacket. The sleeve carries the Pro Era Records and EMPIRE marks, under catalog number ERE427.

1999 first appeared on June 12, 2012, as a free download: a tribute to 1990s East Coast hip hop, built on boom bap production and lyrics drawn from Joey's teenage years in Brooklyn. It reached streaming services on June 12, 2018, after the instrumental of "Funky Ho'$" was changed to remove an uncleared sample, the same step that made a vinyl release possible. That re-release also retitled the closing track "Suspect" as "Third Eye Shit," the name it carries here.

The back cover credits production to Chuck Strangers, MF DOOM ("World Domination," "Pennyroyal"), J Dilla ("Snakes," "Where It'$ At"), Lord Finesse, Statik Selektah, Knxwledge, Lewis Parker, Vin Skully, Freddie Joachim and Bruce LeeKix. Guest verses come from Pro Era members Capital STEEZ, CJ Fly, Chuck Strangers and Kirk Knight, along with T'nah Apex, and the closer is credited to the whole Pro Era collective. Joey Bada$$ executive produced the tape, shares mixing credit with Shy Guy Beats and Wayne Harewood, and is credited for the artwork alongside Chike Ozah.

BET nominated 1999 for mixtape of the year, Pitchfork gave it 8 out of 10, and Complex ranked it the 38th best album of 2012. Videos followed for "Hardknock," "Survival Tactics," "FromdaTomb$" and "Waves." Ten years later Joey followed it with a sequel album, 2000, released on July 22, 2022.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
