Giblet Gravy, released in 1968 on Verve, documents guitarist George Benson during his early period with the label. Produced by Esmond Edwards with arrangements by Tom McIntosh, the sessions feature an exceptional cast including Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Bob Cranshaw, Billy Cobham, Johnny Pacheco, and Pepper Adams. Across standards, contemporary material, and originals, Benson's fluid, blues-inflected phrasing stays at the center. The Verve Vault series is mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Optimal.
