Keyboardist and composer Doug Carn's 1971 debut for the Black Jazz label, Infant Eyes, is a recognized spiritual/soul-jazz classic — notable for Carn's device of adding lyrics to jazz standards like Coltrane's Acknowledgement (A Love Supreme), Horace Silver's Peace and Wayne Shorter's title track, sung by the thrilling voice of his wife Jean Carn, backed by a crack outfit including Michael Carvin and Henry Franklin.
Remastered and annotated, pressed on blue-with-black-swirl vinyl limited to 500 copies.
