There Near is Dinosaur Jr.'s sixth studio album since the original trio reunited, and their first in the five years since Sweep It Into Space. It was recorded in short, intense bursts over the course of a year at Bisquiteen Studio in Amherst, Massachusetts, almost entirely by the core lineup -- J Mascis on guitar and vocals, Lou Barlow on bass and vocals, and Murph on drums -- with piano and organ work from Ken Mauri.

Mascis tracked his guitars through a recently acquired '70s Mesa Boogie MK 1, the same model of amp the band used on their first album -- a sound he says he "was trying to get back to on this album." Barlow writes and sings two of the eleven tracks, "Blowin' Up" and "No One's Ready." The lead single is "Several Got Away."

This retail exclusive pressing puts the album on a single LP of clear and pink vinyl, released by Jagjaguwar on August 28, 2026.
