Zero is a 2018 album by Pharaoh Overlord, the group from Pori, Finland, first formed by three members of the Finnish band Circle. Hydra Head Records issued it on a single black LP in cooperation with the Finnish label Ektro Records, with an international release date of April 27, 2018. The catalog number is hh666-225.
The announcement called it the band's ninth studio album and named Jussi Lehtisalo, Janne Westerlund and Tomi Leppänen as the core of the group, joined here by two guests: Antti Boman of the Finnish death metal band Demilich, whose voice is heard on "Meanwhile," and Hans Joachim Irmler of the German group Faust. Irmler had already played with Pharaoh Overlord on their 2007 album Live In Suomi Finland.
Sessions took place at Headline Studios and Faust Studio, with Antti Uusimäki, Irmler, Jani Viitanen, Lehtisalo and Leppänen all credited with recording. Uusimäki mixed the album, James Plotkin mastered it, and Tom Backström designed the sleeve. "Maailmanlopun ateriana" was the first track released ahead of the album, in March 2018. Side B opens with "Lalibela Cannot Spell Zero," the longest piece on the record at nine minutes.
