The indie retail exclusive edition of A Pale White Dot spreads the album's twelve tracks across two aquamarine discs with black marbling, packed in a jacket carrying Piper Ferrari's cover design of twelve white circles. It is issued by 3DOT Recordings, the label Periphery run themselves.
A Pale White Dot is Periphery's eighth studio album. The band announced it on March 30, 2026, along with the title of its lead single, "Mr. God," which followed on April 2. "Everyone Dies Alone," co-written with Caleb Shomo, came out on April 23, and "Heaven on High" arrived with the album. The record runs 47 minutes and 38 seconds and closes on its instrumental title track. The opening track, "Obsession," is the subject of the band's lyric video above.
All six band members, bassist Adam "Nolly" Getgood among them, are credited as producers. Spencer Sotelo, Misha Mansoor and Getgood mixed the record, Getgood and Matt Redenbo engineered it, and Mike Kalajian handled mastering. Will Ramos of Lorna Shore sings on "Subhuman." In the UK the album reached No. 13 on the Official Album Downloads chart and No. 23 on the Rock & Metal Albums chart.
