Matador's single-LP reissue of Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, first issued on vinyl in this form in 2010 as part of the label's Low Price Vinyl Series. Twelve tracks run six to a side, with a double-sided insert of band information, credits and artwork.
Pavement's second album came out on Matador on February 14, 1994. It moved the band toward a more accessible rock sound than the lo-fi Slanted And Enchanted, and it was the first album with drummer Steve West, who replaced Gary Young. Matador's page quotes Joe Levy of the Village Voice: "CRCR is a California album recorded on 32nd Street and Ninth Avenue in Manhattan."
"Cut Your Hair" was the single, and the album reached the UK top 20. Pitchfork ranked it number 8 on its 2003 list of the top albums of the 1990s, and in 2010 placed "Gold Soundz" at number one on its list of the decade's greatest songs.
