Remastered 180g Double LP, Gatefold Sleeve

This is Big Brother Recordings' 2014 20th-anniversary edition of Definitely Maybe, catalog number RKIDLP70, remastered by Ian Cooper at Metropolis Mastering in London. Twelve songs are spread across two 180-gram LPs, three to a side, in a gatefold sleeve. The shrinkwrap sticker on this issue lists a download code for the album and its unreleased bonus tracks and rarities.

Definitely Maybe was the Oasis debut, released by Creation Records on August 29, 1994. Recording ran from December 1993 to May 1994 across studios in Manchester, Wales, Cornwall, Liverpool and London. The first sessions, at Monnow Valley with producer Dave Batchelor, were abandoned; engineer Dave Scott has said "Slide Away" was the only track kept from them. A second attempt at Sawmills in Cornwall, produced by Noel Gallagher and Mark Coyle, was also set aside before Owen Morris mixed the album at Loco Studios in Wales and Matrix in London.

Liam Gallagher sang and Noel Gallagher wrote every song and played lead guitar, with Paul Arthurs on rhythm guitar, Paul McGuigan on bass and Tony McCarroll on drums. "Supersonic," "Shakermaker," "Live Forever" and "Cigarettes & Alcohol" were issued as singles, and "Live Forever" became the band's first UK top ten hit. The album entered the UK chart at number one in September 1994 after selling 100,000 copies in four days, then the fastest-selling debut in British history. It reached number 58 on the Billboard 200 and is certified 10x Platinum in the UK and Platinum in the US. NME readers voted it the greatest album ever in 2006, and Rolling Stone ranked it number 217 on its 2020 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
