1976 US pressing, Columbia PC 34367, pressed at Terre Haute

The Best Of New Riders Of The Purple Sage came out on Columbia in October 1976 as PC 34367. This copy was pressed at Columbia's Terre Haute, Indiana plant, and the label matrices read AL 34367 for side A and BL 34367 for side B.

The object

One LP in a jacket photographed by Eric Meola, with design by Ed Lee and lettering by Gerard Huerta and Richard Kenerson. The runouts of PC 34367 are both etched and stamped.

Context

This Terre Haute copy comes from the compilation's 1976 release year. Its ten tracks carry several producer credits: Jerry Garcia on Hello Mary Lou (Goodbye Heart), Norbert Putnam on Kick In The Head and Panama Red, Ed Freeman on You Angel You, and the band with Stephen Barncard on the other six, Phil Lesh sharing five of those.
