Black Vinyl LP Reissue

This 2019 reissue returns Overnight Sensation to vinyl under Motörhead's Murder One imprint at BMG, catalog BMGCAT364LP, with a printed inner sleeve.

First released on October 15, 1996, it is the band's thirteenth studio album and the first by the trio of Lemmy, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee after Würzel's departure, a lineup that held until the band's end in 2015. It was recorded at Ocean Studios in Burbank and Track House Recording Studio in St. Louis, with Howard Benson producing Motörhead for the third time. Lemmy recalled about four weeks of writing and two months of recording, and that Dee finished his drum tracks in one day.

The cover was the band's first since Ace of Spades to carry a photograph of the group. Lemmy plays harmonica on "Crazy Like a Fox" and acoustic guitar on the title song and "Listen to Your Heart," and Swedish Erotica guitarist Magnus Axx shares the writing credit on "Civil War." The album charted in Germany, Sweden and Finland, and reached number 22 on the UK Rock chart. The video above is the official clip for "I Don't Believe a Word."
