Forest Shadow Vinyl LP, 10th Anniversary Edition

Dead Oceans marked ten years of Puberty 2 with this limited-edition reissue on Forest Shadow vinyl, a single LP carrying the original eleven-track album. The label's notes state that it does not include the digital deluxe bonus tracks: Mitski's covers of One Direction's "Fireproof" and Frank Sinatra's "I'm a Fool to Want You," first issued on the original Japanese CD and released for the anniversary in digital form only.

Puberty 2 is Mitski's fourth studio album and her first for Dead Oceans, released on June 17, 2016. She recorded it over two weeks at Acme Studios in Westchester, New York, with her longtime collaborator Patrick Hyland, who produced, played on and mastered the record and took its photographs. Every song is written by Mitski Miyawaki, and the album runs about 31 minutes. "Happiness is up, sadness is down, but one's almost more destructive than the other," she says in the label's notes.

"Your Best American Girl," the lead single and the video above, was released on March 1, 2016 alongside the album's announcement, followed by "Happy" on May 3; a video for "A Burning Hill" came that October. The album reached No. 5 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart and No. 18 on Independent Albums, and it has been certified Gold by the RIAA and Silver by the BPI. It holds a Metacritic score of 87 from 22 reviews. NPR's Laura Snapes wrote that the album "is a strike against the happy/sad poles that govern our lives." Time ranked it the third-best album of 2016, and Pitchfork later placed it at No. 30 on its list of the 200 best albums of the 2010s.

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
