Black Vinyl LP in a Holographic Cover, 20th Anniversary Edition
Def Jam and UMe reissued Tical on September 16, 2014, for the album's 20th anniversary and the label's 30th, as a single black LP in a special holographic cover, catalog number B0021197-01. Thirteen tracks run seven on side A and six on side B, closing with "Method Man (Remix)."
Method Man's debut solo album first came out on Def Jam on November 15, 1994, the first Wu-Tang Clan solo record after Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). RZA produced nearly all of it; 4th Disciple co-produced "Sub Crazy" and Method Man co-produced "P.L.O. Style." "Meth vs. Chef" is a recorded battle with Raekwon, a product of RZA's practice of having the group's rappers compete for the right to his beats.
Tical entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4 and reached No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and the RIAA certified it platinum on July 13, 1995. Its singles were "Bring the Pain," the video above, and "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By" with Mary J. Blige.
