This is the 4AD double LP of Blues Funeral: twelve songs, three to a side across four sides, in a gatefold jacket with a coupon to download the whole album.
Released in February 2012, it was the first Mark Lanegan Band album since Bubblegum in 2004. Alain Johannes recorded it at his 11AD studio in Hollywood, produced and mixed it, and played guitar, bass, keyboards and percussion, with Jack Irons on drums. Greg Dulli sings on "St Louis Elegy," Josh Homme plays guitar on "Riot in My House," and David Catching, Chris Goss and Aldo Struyf turn up elsewhere.
Lanegan wrote about the songs in his 2017 book I Am the Wolf. He said "Ode to Sad Disco" took part of its music from the soundtrack to Nicolas Winding Refn's Pusher II, that the album title was a nod to the British band The Groundhogs, and that if he could play only one of his albums live, it would be this one.
It reached No. 21 on the UK albums chart and No. 99 on the Billboard 200. The video above is the band's session for 4AD.

Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.
