This box brings together the nine singles Magic Sam released on Cobra, Chief and Crash between 1957 and 1966, each reproduced in its original form as a 7-inch record, according to P-Vine. All of them predate West Side Soul, his 1968 debut album for Delmark. P-Vine lists the box, catalog number P7BX-2, as a limited first pressing.
Born Samuel Gene Maghett in Grenada County, Mississippi, in 1937, he made his name with "All Your Love," his 1957 debut single for Cobra, where Willie Dixon produced him. With fellow Cobra artists Otis Rush and Buddy Guy, he helped define Chicago's West Side sound. He died in 1969 at 32, and the Blues Hall of Fame inducted him in 1982.
P-Vine's notes single out the Cobra slow blues "Easy Baby," the B-sides "Love Me With A Feeling" and "21 Days In Jail," his 1961 Chief reading of Fats Domino's "Every Night About This Time," and Chief sides credited to Magic Sam with the Ammons Sisters. The two Crash singles from 1966, recorded after his first Delmark sessions, include "Out Of Bad Luck" and "She Belongs To Me."

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.
Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.
