The Beat Konducta series collects Madlib's instrumental work from 1994 to 2008, and this is the first time every volume has been gathered in one place. Stones Throw catalog STH2528.

Exclusive to the box is Vol. 0: Earth Sounds, recorded between 1994 and 1996 and first issued in 2001 as a limited fan-club release, pressed here on Northern Lights green vinyl. Vol. 1-2: Movie Scenes, from 2005 and 2006, is thirty-five "scenes" modeled on 1970s film and television library records. For Vol. 3-4: In India, from 2007, Madlib worked through Bollywood soundtracks and Indian productions from his own record collection; "Movie Finale" later became the basis of Yasiin Bey's "Auditorium." Vol. 5-6: Dil Cosby Suite and Dil Withers Suite, from 2008, is a forty-two-track tribute to J Dilla with contributions from J. Rocc.

Vol. 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 are each presented as a 2LP gatefold on black vinyl for the first time, which with the single-LP Vol. 0 makes seven records, all with new artwork by Jeff Jank, housed in a heavyweight slipcase.
