Bayonet Records pressed this limited edition of Tape Recorder, the second full-length album from Nashville's Lionlimb, on clear vinyl. It was released on February 23, 2018, with its six songs split three to a side.
Lionlimb is the project of singer, songwriter and producer Stewart Bronaugh, who grew up in Nashville and met drummer Joshua Jaeger in college; the two released their debut LP, Shoo, in 2016. For this record they set aside the layered production of that debut and worked as an ensemble, recording live at the Relic Room in New York from April 17 to 20, 2017. Jonathan Sumner plays bass, Maximillian Zooi bass clarinet and Rashaad Jones cello, with violin from Frederique Gnaman, Josh Henderson and Shawn Jaeger. Bronaugh wrote the songs, which the label describes as songs about family and memory, and plays guitar, piano and synthesizer.
Jarvis Taveniere mixed the album and Josh Bonati mastered it. "Maria" and "Clover" were released ahead of it; "Clover," the opening track, is shown above in its official video.
