Propeller Sound Recordings brings Laura Cantrell's third album back into print for its 20th anniversary, newly remastered and with a previously unreleased song, "Hammer and Nails," added after the original ten. This is the retail vinyl edition: a single LP pressed on tangerine vinyl. The video above is Propeller's own, for the new song.
Matador first released Humming By The Flowered Vine on June 21, 2005, with JD Foster producing. Cantrell wrote "Khaki & Corduroy," "California Rose" and "Old Downtown," and wrote "Bees" with Jay Sherman-Godfrey; that song is dedicated to the memory of John Peel, a longtime supporter of her music. The rest of the record draws on other writers: Lucinda Williams' "Letters," Wynn Stewart's "Wishful Thinking," songs by Emily Spray, Jenifer Jackson and Dave Schramm, and Cantrell's own arrangement of the traditional "Poor Ellen Smith."
Amazon.com named the album one of its top 100 editors' picks of 2005, and it holds a score of 80 on Metacritic.
Evergreen Vinyl ships records with care and attention to detail, using established carriers and packaging practices designed to protect physical media in transit.
Where We Ship
We currently ship to the United States and Canada.
Order Processing
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1–3 business days after payment is received. Orders placed on weekends or holidays are processed on the next business day.
Pre-orders generally ship on or around the official release date of the title. When available, estimated ship timing is noted on the product page.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates
Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.
Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.
Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.
While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.
Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.
Signature Requirements
Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.
Tracking & Safe Delivery
Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking information via email. We recommend monitoring tracking updates and ensuring delivery to a secure location.
Evergreen Vinyl is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after being marked as delivered by the carrier. Customers are responsible for selecting a shipping address where deliveries can be received safely.
