This pressing puts Wowed Out on a single LP of clear pink vinyl, packed in a single jacket with a printed inner sleeve that carries the album's lyrics and credits. ATO Records issued it in the US on August 28, 2026, under catalog number ATO0722.
Wowed Out is the fifth solo album from Jim James, the singer, guitarist and principal songwriter of My Morning Jacket, and his first new solo record in eight years, following 2018's Uniform Distortion. Its source material predates that gap: James built the album from a large archive of music he had written with composer Brian Reitzell for two film projects in the early 2010s, reworking those cues into finished songs. He produced the record himself and mixed it with Emily Lazar, and he has cited the spiritual recordings of Alice Coltrane as a touchstone. The title is his own coinage for a state of sensory overload.
The lead single, "Come Again," started life as a cue scored for a scene set in a teddy bear factory; its video was conceived and edited by W.G. Rickel. The title track followed as the second single. "Lost Child" samples "Oh No Not My Baby," written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. James's solo catalog has been with ATO since his 2013 debut, Regions of Light and Sound of God.
